Metka Kavčič
Born in 1960 in Maribor. Following her studies of Art Education at the Faculty of Education in Maribor she enrolled into the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, department of sculpture, where she graduated in 1987 under professor Slavko Tihec.

She completed her post-graduate studies of conservation and restoration in 1990 under professor France Kokalj at the same institution. For eleven years she was employed as a conservationist and restorer for stone and wooden sculptures in the Ptuj Regional Museum.

In 1998 she attended further education at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. Since 2000 she has been living and working as an independent artist in Maribor.
